Process

  1. First you will be assigned your group of 3 students (by your teacher).
  2. Once you have your group, you will be given your historical figure- but first you have to find this person in our classroom! Each group will be given an index card with 3 sets of clues describing something about their historical person.  Follow the clues and they will lead you to the location of the name of your historical figure!
  3. Now that you know your "person of interest", you will need to develop a graphic organizer.
  4. We will work over the next few weeks in the Computer Lab to do research on the Internet. Bring your graphic organizer and extra paper to record facts.
  5. Remember Internet Rules we discussed in class.  Please always include the website you got your information from.  See Resources listed below.
  6. We will also visit our school library to conduct alternate research.
  7. Each group will create a poster of their historical figure.  Be as creative as possible with pictures and descriptions since you will be presenting to the class.
  8. It is important to use the Rubric (Evaluation tab) as a guideline in planning your research and working on your project.
  9. Each group will do a presentation to the class displaying their poster and share interesting facts about their historical figure.
  10. On the day of the presentation, one person in each group may dress up as your historical person with all 3 group members contributing to the costume! It is important to plan this a week before the presentation to gather all materials for costume.
Most of all HAVE FUN traveling back in time and exploring your historical figure! The more you put into this project, the more you and our class will get out of it!
